Online Safety

Every child has the right to reliable information from the media. This should be information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.”

Article 17, United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Digital technologies have become vital to the lives of children and young people, both within schools and outside of school. These technologies are powerful tools which allow children to be creative, collaborative, promote discussion and independence. At Thorntree Academy we encourage young people to be responsible users with safe behaviours while using technology. Children have an entitlement to be safe at all times.

Due to current events, children are spending even more time online in order to play, create, learn and connect. It remains important to know how to keep them safe. Please select links below to access advice on a variety of online safety topics.
